The hubby and I went biking today. It was a great idea for a Sunday afternoon!
We ended up going ~14.4 miles down and back. It took an hour and 20 minutes, but I stopped at the turn around point to drink some water and take a few pictures.
It was a great day for a bike ride. The sun was shining, but it wasn’t too hot. The trail is right by the water and the whole time we rode there was a cold breeze in the air. Just perfect!
The trail is paved the whole distance and it looked like the path continued beyond our 7.2 mile turnaround. I don’t like to ride in traffic and definitely appreciated that this trail was completely set off on it’s own. There are multiple places that you can join the trail, so it works great where ever you want to pick it up. We joined the trail at the beginning which starts in a neighborhood with little to no parking. I would suggest starting further inland and working your way west.
The trail is mostly flat with only 4 sudden declines and inclines. The only thing that keeps this trail for being perfect is that there is hardly any shade along the 7.2 mile stretch. There are a few trees along the first mile, but the rest of the trail is wide open. The open space by the river does make for pretty views in places.
This trail is definitely worth checking out. Let me know what you think!
